Underwear is also one of the first elements to a costume if a bodysuit is not needed. For this costume I have recreated the dancers underwear worn within the Moulin Rouge in Paris. I researched the colours worn by the dancers and they often depict a strong sense of character. The detailing at the top of corset represents the style and decoration used during the 19th century. The skirt is longer towards the back also reflecting shape of dress during this time. The layered ruffles follows the line of the skirt, rather than sitting in rows of equal level.
