To begin with I researched the essence of Cabaret and the idea it holds. Essentially cabaret is about the pushing of boundaries and non- confirmation. I linked this with the clubbing scene of the 80's. During this time many movements were being formed, radicalising fashion and music. I used David Bowie, Kiss and the club Blitz as key inspirations for this costume. I hand positioned and attached the studs individually for a customized and unique appearance. The corset and tights capture the essence of androgony which was present and at an all time high during the 80's. The wrist and neck cuffs are all elements which were part of the Goth - Punk movement.
